strongly anchored by its enticing sensual sequences, essentially a lesson in creating soaring sexual tension and a film that clearly has a fully formed grasp of how to create two characters that are ideally matched within a authority dynamic, with desires that slowly build and build. It's difficult to imagine 2 actors more fitting the parts than Harrison Dickinson and Nicole Kidman. An understandable wrap-up, but not one I particularly loved. It keeps edging closer and closer to peril without quite reaching a real whirling point, but I was nevertheless happy to see actors I really like play off each other, particularly Antonio Banderas, who really brings the house down in the final third! Guy is so good. also, the score is really great - up there with the best of the year great.
