"I would have followed you... my brother... my captain... my king."

What a line. What a movie. What an impact this film has had on my life. If not for The Fellowship of the Ring, I never would have gone down paths I chose in life. Never would have viewpoints on life, never would have met and connected with people because of this movie. This movie holds a very special place in my heart. I watched this film when I…

    The King

    ★★★★½

I think I've gotten over my love for this film a tad. It feels empty. Alone. And I think that's why I gravitated towards it so much in the beginning. Henry was alone, and he was King.
    "A King has no friends."
That line just sort of resonated with me. But that's also the problem with this film. It's lonely. It's a bit of a slow burn. The only other way I can describe it as is a Blade Runner

"Shall I describe it to you? Or would you like me to find you a box?"

I don't even know how to start this review. Prior to rewatching this series I remember The Two Towers to be the "weakest" of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I always saw it as the Age of Ultron of the Lord of the Rings. The connective tissue, which in many ways it is. It exists to elevate Fellowship and Return.
    But during this…

    Alright...
    I have some thoughts...
I just feel like I've seen this film before. Maybe it was that this film kicked off the horror/survival genre of films. You know what I'm talking about, A Quiet Place, Bird Box, etc.
During the first and second act I was also just bored. Even when shit went down. But I was also invested with the characters. I wanted to see what happened to them, good and bad.
And then we got to the…

    Scream VI

I reckon the first and second act where really strong. I was enjoying it all and then, when the third act rolled round, Sam and Terra where fighting the killers in that museum place showing off the franchise. Couldn't have asked for a more boring final showdown.
It was also not very smart of me to put on the sixth and most recent installment of the Scream franchise when I've only seen the original one.
So I wanted to give it two and a half stars and then I liked the ending so another half star seems fair.
