This movie is a mess. I can't say I'm much enamored with Mike Nichols as a director, his compositions are flat, his handling of horror and action stink, and his characters go from 0 to 60 the back to 0 in a matter of seconds and no one in the movies give it a second thought. I'm not sure what this movie is trying to say about the werewolf myth, and judging by the "twist" ending, I don't think it does either.

Isle of the Dead 1945
Working my way through all the Val Lewton horror movies, this is quite an enjoyable one. Moody sets and great performances all around, it's a really unique setting for a horror movie, it reminds me of something from old time radio, like Escape or Suspense. Really enjoyed seeing Ernst Deutsch!

Den of Thieves 2018
I know calling this Heat with a Concussion is a common refrain, but it really is. Ocean's Heat I think is an apt description as well. It's dumb, but it's enjoyable.
