Reminded me of how great Logan was at least. Good enough X-Men fan film with plenty of (decent-ish, timed) laughs and zero substance. Does not function as a movie outside of reference humour and B-plot nonchalance, but that's just what this franchise is, that's who Ryan Reynolds is.
The screenplay was written by a comic book teenager gripping his nuts too hard, but at least this has some ACTING and SHOT DESIGN. Though, none of it ammounts to enough to subvert the multiverse / Marvel fodder it pokes fun at. It is irrepressibly late MCU, as much as it swears it isn't. Too much mouth, indeed, and not enough maverick.
I remain firmly in superhero fatigue.
