An incredibly satisfying and improved experience upon rewatch! the script. the score. the practical effects. EMILY BLUNT?! all of it! Nolan is at his best— Oppenheimer is a culmination of years of top notch filmmaking. Film fans who decry his filmography as overrated have completely lost sight of how accessible and important movies like his are. they’re cultural events, and, for so many, Nolan serves as a turning point for movie lovers and makers. Amid the backdrop of studios waging war on their own craft and creatives, Nolan continues to get audiences across the world to show up.
Felt the runtime with this one a bit, but the double feature definitely contributed. Loved the last hour more this time!
