In terms of story this isn’t all that exciting since the IP had been done over every which way possible. But the craft at display here is simply mesmerizing, every still is gorgeous to look at and it is nothing short of a masterclass in framing and tension.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim 2024
As someone who is not that engrained into the universe I thought this was a nice addition to the lore. The mix of animation styles in characters and landscape bothered me a bit at the beginning but I got used to it. First rewatch since the big screen, and I feel like this edit is different somehow? Definitely less humor than I remember, which caught me by surprise the first time around

Megalopolis 2024
For the Herculean effort and the beautiful mess this is I am glad I saw it in the big screen, but wow is this a bad film at times. So ridden with concepts and loose ends it’s near impossible to follow along, lots of laughs in places where it felt very unintentional. I don’t see myself ever coming back but A for effort I guess?
