RashaadHarris’s review published on Letterboxd:
Disney really needs to stop with these lazy ass nostalgic, step-by-step, note-by-note, frame-by-frame retreads. They often come out feeling just like the mediocre, soulless cash grabs that they are, with this being no exception. Anyone calling this one of the best live-action Disney adaptations must’ve watched it with their eyes closed. All stars go to Melissa McCarthy’s performance and Halle Bailey’s voice. That is all.
