I haven't seen this since childhood, so going in near-blind was a pretty fun experience! My main grievance is that I couldn’t stand Marion. They introduced her as a badass and then she was reduced to a character who consistently fucked things up while whining “INNNNDDYYYYY!”

I’m SO glad I saw this in theaters. The sound design was stunning and it wouldn't have had the same effect with my shitty speakers at home.

I don't even know how to express how much I loved this. I am in awe of this movie and I WILL be rewatching. Maybe now studios can see that more gothic horror is always needed <3

YES the effects are goofy YES I still cry multiple times!!

One of the first movies I loved — I think there’s still a well worn VHS of this in my mom’s basement somewhere <3

    National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Better than the original EASILY. I'm staying in DC so there’s truly no better time to see Nic Cage run around government buildings. That little freak is so magnetic in every movie!!

  • Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare

    Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare

    ★★★

oh they absolutely butcher Freddy’s character here — a goofy caricature of himself but god is it still fun. it almost felt like he was symbolizing the nightmare legacy every time they kicked the shit out of him. bottom line is that i WILL accept a lesser movie if it has enjoyable kills and at least one good character (freddy himself, of course). kinda starting to feel like nightmare on elm street is the most solid slasher franchise. I haven’t been bored during any of these installments and I’d willingly rewatch them.

This might genuinely be one of the worst installments? WOW what kind of nostalgia goggles did I have on before

  • Hellbound: Hellraiser II

    Hellbound: Hellraiser II

    ★★

Kirsty being the dumbest fuckin protagonist imaginable… oh this WAS hell. A lot of horror is about suspending your disbelief but I can only take so much. Her idiocy absolutely ruined the movie for me and raised my blood pressure. All the effects were buckets of fun but CHRIST is it a slog to get through with her as the lead. Was she always so bad??

  • Mission: Impossible II

    Mission: Impossible II

    ★★★

was gonna get the same rating as the first one (all the slo mo and dumb action scenes really warmed my heart) but there was just one too many jokes about women. you can really tell a guy born in the 30s wrote this

  • Mission: Impossible

saying that i'm pulling a mission impossible whenever i do a magic trick (i love the sleight of hand trick he did)
