Saw X

Saw X

john kramer the humanitarian and amanda young comedic genius combing forces to maximize their joint slay.

had to dock this half a star because of the atrocious filters movies always seems to feel the need to convey that something is taking place anywhere south of the usa. but besides that this was a brutally enjoyable entry into such a well established series. it’s interesting to see more of kramer’s backstory as well as the relationship between him and young. they’ve stripped away some of the campiness and chaotic editing we’ve come to expect from these movies but still feels like it takes place in the same world, while keeping the traps just as gruesome. i also found the supporting actors had strong performances in most of their roles although it’s always john kramer and shawnee smith who truly stand out as always. i’m already looking forward to a rewatch in the near future and this might be my favourite saw film outside of the original trilogy!
