The Beguiled 2017
Drab and boring. Interior scenes are so underlit they’re almost indistinguishable (same as Priscilla). There's a pivotal, dramatic scene in a staircase where there is no light whatsoever, you can't even tell what's going on. The Beguiled 1971
Don Siegel directed the hell out of this. There is not one scene that is not shot in an interesting or downright weird way; the psychosexual drama would not have been the same had he not been on his A game here. Geraldine Page and Elizabeth Hartman chewing down scenery, they're sooooo good. Clint Eastwood is also great. Love how he was in two movies in 1971 where he's terrorized by women.
