I haven’t watched a VHS movie in like 12 years. Apparently this is one of the better ones besides 2.
It goes:
1. Raatma, the Rat Xenomorph
2. Cyberpsycosis
3. Waking the Wake
4. Vampire Blood Terrorists
5. Connecting story
Most had good practical effects besides some parts of ‘The Subject’ segment which had interesting ideas but felt a little video gamey at times with its cgi. I think the first two shorts are on par with each other while ‘Terror’ was the least enjoyable.
Somehow both lighthearted and dread inducing.
Written and directed by Romero.
Makeup and effects by Tom Savini
Produced by Dario Argento
Soundtrack by Goblin
Is there a better combination?
A little long but it was just pure zombie squib bursting fun.
Mad Max always abides by the rule of cool. Any complaint I might have is nullified by hot rod monster trucks, motorcycle chariots and the insane character designs in the wastelands.
It’s carnage and mayhem and even if there is more CGI than Fury Road, I don’t really mind because I enjoyed diving deeper into the world and factions. The world building and scale went up and so the blend of practical and CG effects was fine with me.
