  I like how this movie never stops being the show itself. We can see the audience reactions and the crew working but all the emotional beats are essentially the same for the audience and for us, the tension and the climax are the same, the cheesy emotional music. At the end, everyone except the director cheers, the show audience that passively put him through this, the activist girl, and us, we were all rooting for him. It's just like Truman…

  Dinner in America smells like food. Unidentified food from your neighbor’s house, hospitals, alleys, packed lunches, fridges, air-conditioned bedrooms. Sour from heat but still sweaty with condensation, gooey, moist, chewy. Food made by people you dislike. Food after you swallow it. Food that isn’t for eating.
