Well, hi there.
As you all may know by now the weather sometimes helps me decide what to watch. It cooled down quite a bit due to lots and lots of rain so I remembered that I had rented this but didn't get around to watch it yet.
Julia and her husband Francis move to Bucharest. She notices a stranger watching her as a serial killer is active in the area. Francis thinks that Julia is paranoid but is she, really?
This is a great psychological thriller that left me feeling quite melancholic. Maika Monroe is fantastic and throughout the film you just want to give her a (non-creepy) hug.
Also the husband highkey sucks. Believe your wife, dude.
It's also Chloe Okuno's directorial feature debut! Whew! Really excited for the Fear Street film that she's directing! This film is beautifully shot and has some great tension altough I can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed by the last third (not the last few minutes, they're great IMO) - I'm not sure but maybe I excepted something else?
That doesn't ruin the film tho, it's still a fun watch and it definitely deserves the love. I do recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet!
And don't wave. Never wave.
Horror for rainy days 💧
