criterion challenge 2024: 52/52 (watch any criterion film from your watchlist)

the only thing to do—get busy, idiot. sometimes i give movies ratings by thinking of them in relation to other movies i’ve rated and asking myself “which one would i rather watch at any given moment?”, and needless to say that absolutely does not apply here. probably the most major example of a movie i haven’t given five stars (at least right now at 2:30 in the morning) that is also probably still one of the best movies ever made?
