Trying to separate my assessment of the films quality from my pre existing love of some of the tunes from this, but that is the big hard.

Overall felt like this did well, had its own identity n flair but still fully maintained the core of the play. Lots of cool narrative nods too.

Also bro Cynthia Erivo fully killed the game man in all aspects. Gooos bump central. Also opera Ariana Grande is wild.

Anyway musically obviously incredible but felt like it also told the story in a cool fresh way as well, like it tried to do creative individual stuff rather than just rely on being well known, so appreciated that.
