Stand by my original review of this still being pretty airtight. Curious about where Adrian's abuse of his brother (played to spineless perfection by Michael Dorman) begins and ends. One could interpret that Adrian bullied or other wise coerced him into the action towards the end. But on the other maybe Tom was just as devilish as Adrian. We'll never know, but it's an interesting wrinkle I found on this rewatch.

The restaurant scene is still aces and maybe the highlight of Whannell's career as a great WTF moment. Moss is fantastic and I love the catharsis of the ending. His best movie yet.

A bit surprised I hadn't logged this yet considering I know I've watched it at least sometime within the last 6-7 years. At least I think.

Regardless, while this certainly has some major flaws (mostly stemming from the deeply troubled production of this) in the way of Emily Blunt being underwritten (and by extension her chemistry with Del Toro), a massive over reliance on jumpscares, and some general pacing issues, I still really, really enjoy this.

DTV sci-fi channel ass Hellboy (extremely complimentary) and you know what?

    I enjoyed it.

This is NOT going to be for everyone, Hell 95%-99% are gonna discard this. And they wouldn't be wrong to. Everything about it screams "Why"?

Why a third interpretation of this character? Why does it look so cheap? Why? Why? And all those questions and more are worth asking.

And yet for some diehard Hellboy fans and those willing to give…

I looked over my grammar and spelling error ridden previous review and first and foremost I apologize. My second apology was rating Den of Thieves far too low for what it was. Genuinely think something was in the air with me in 2021 when I finally watched it.

But man did this rewatch truly cement that scuzzy, grimy, machismo atmosphere that permeates the film.

There are no heroes here. Big Nick and his "clique" are just as much a gang…
