There are American epics, films that feel very much a story of us, in our splendor, our brokenness, our beauty, and our sins, all together in a tapestry of light. Movies like THE GODFATHER, or CITIZEN KANE, or THERE WILL BE BLOOD.
I believe THE BRUTALIST is one of those films.
