Director Joe Begos just remade Assault on Precinct 13, itself basically a mashup of Rio Bravo and Night of the Living Dead. I swear you’ll realize it the next time you watch Precinct 13.

He changes the location to a VFW bar, but it’s not nearly as clever or as brutal as John Carpenter’s take. Even the set up is lazy and has a few moments that lack any logic on the characters part. It makes up for all this however with plenty of violence, gore and casting Stephen Lang, Martin Kove and Fred Williamson as some of the vets. Bonus for having George Wendt sitting at the bar.
