    Round 2

A MISUNDERSTOOD MASTERPIECE AND CULT CLASSIC IN THE MAKING.

Had to see it again. Couldn't stop thinking about it. Can't get the fear, lies, remorse, regret, guilt, delusion and denial out of my head. My heart seriously aches. Super bummed it only got a one week run at my theater, could've easily and gladly watched it a couple more times.

Songs are definitely growing on me, amazing score. The time skip during the finale doesn't bother me anymore.…

With A24 finally allowing the last of us lowly unworthy peasants to view The Brutalist this coming weekend, now seemed like the perfect time to revisit director Brady Corbett's previous effort.

I didn't completely hate Vox Lux the one and only time I saw it way back in 2018 but I definitely didn't "get it", was far from a fan. Clearly me of seven years ago was an uneducated idiot because this was fantastic!

Aesthetically phenomenal! Crazy that Natalie Portman's…

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I had such a good time watching You're Cordially Invited. I'm a big Will Ferrell fan, love his schtick. He hits way more than he misses with me. If I ever don't laugh at him wrestling an alligator I'm either dead or in a coma. (Even in a coma there's still like a 20 percent chance it would get at least a "Ha" outta me) That was just one of many gags that landed. Couple of banger performances of Islands in the stream as well.

A far more successful experiment than Zemeckis's recent failure, Here.

I've never been a big fan of Soderbergh's work but I quite liked this though it did take some adjusting to as the camera work caused a bit of vertigo and queasiness the first few minutes. The frequent cuts to black were annoying, family dynamics were...weird, but I really liked the destination, serious emotional impact even if I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

How much you enjoy it's gonna depend on your expectations. If you're looking for a scary haunted house flick this ain't it.

I'm sure there will be those who love this, who view it as a metaphor, finding greater deeper meaning in it...i'm not one of those people. I got absolutely zero enjoyment out of it. It's way too long, some scenes were extremely disgusting and the few things I found interesting receive no explanation or exploration.

I love Dafoe but if I want to watch him descend into madness I'll stick with Robert Eggers masterpiece The Lighthouse. I see no world where I ever put myself through watching this again.

DIDN'T HATE IT BUT CAN'T SAY IT WORKED FOR ME EITHER.

Some truly awesome, creepy, disturbing, gross, slimy, squishy looking/sounding stopmotion animation is unfortunately wasted on yet another mediocre attempt at elevated horror where the real horror is trauma and mental illness.

The climax briefly peaked my interest with some eyebrow raising gore before ending on a random, weird, confusing, disappointing note.

Honestly I think I'm just becoming bored with this type of horror flick. They're all starting to feel exactly the same to me.
