Good time at the movies. Deeply stylish and backed by a wonderful soundtrack. Clever, but not ridiculously so. It usually knows when to stop elevating and it feels very real for such a bizarre set of happenings. Thatcher has a deeply compelling face and they made excellent use of it. It’s far from perfect but fun all the same.

Wolf Man 2025
Woof. The Invisible Man was an solid and modern telling of a classic horror. This take on the werewolf mostly disregards the hell-on-earth haunting nature of the tale and replaces it with schmaltzy and shallow generational trauma tropes. Never really feeling tense or terrifying, I struggle to understand why this was even made.

Nickel Boys 2024
Absolutely major piece of filmmaking. Audacious and dripping with confidence. A glorious adaptation of already staggering source material with a voice and perspective all its own. The visual language is wholly sincere and painstakingly constructed to be disarming and engaging. It is every bit as powerful and heartbreaking as it is chalked up to be.

Spencer 2021
It took about 15 minutes to settle into this thing, and then K-Stew takes over and is completely absorbed by Diana.
The score is beautiful, the cinematography is stunning, and the set/costume design is on point. This ain’t a bio-pic, and it excels because of it. Really impressed. Go get that Oscar, KS.
