This a love letter to 20th century fox comic book movies and it’s all the better because it. You have to take the good with the bad. We got X2, Logan and 
Days of future past. However we also got New Mutants, X-men: the last stand and Apocalypse. I wouldn’t change a thing though. This movies whole goal is a nostalgia trip and if you accept that and enjoy the action along the way you’ll have a good time. It’s less plot heavy and more thrill ride but sometimes that’s what the world needs.
