— Is there a new age director better at capturing PLACE than Sean Baker? His portrayals of LA, Florida and Texas in his previous works are so vivid, as is the New York we see in this film.

— Borisov has so many great line readings here (“it’s my grandmother’s” gets me every time)
— Eydelshteyn’s performance grows in my estimation with each viewing. He’s remarkable at being a little piece of shit.
— Garnik and Toros embracing at New Year’s lowkey makes me emotional
— Garnik checking out / flirting with every woman he sees is also elite
— Love the way Igor’s restraint / assault of Anora is filmed. He is indeed very forceful with her, which makes the ambiguity and complexity of that finale even greater.
