My first review in over a MONTH and I am very glad it is going to this iconic character. Took a very sad break from films as I’ve been mega busy lately but Deadpool & Wolverine is the perfect movie excuse to jump back on this app. 

Arguably a contender for one of the greatest openings in Marvel’s history, it did not slow down from start to finish. Ryan Reynolds is literally Deadpool and when you throw Hugh Jackmans iconic Wolverine in the mix for one of the greatest team ups ever, it was always going to be an amazing experience. Of course it’s hilarious from the get go with Deadpools classic comedy throughout which doesn’t let up at any point, I’d actually say it’s the funniest in the franchise. It’s also nice to see an emotional side to Deadpool and I think Wolverine brings this out and it balances extremely well. 

Cassandra Nova however, a very mid villain. I genuinely think Marvel’s biggest struggle is bringing amazing villains to the big screen, a lot of them seem to fall flat (in recent years anyway). Charles Xavier’s twin sister, this should be a massive contender and feel like a real threat, but for me she just wasn’t. Nothing against Emma Corrin I thought she did as best she could, but it’s almost like they are so focused on certain things they just don’t invest enough time in the villains expositions.

However, regardless of that, an amazing film and an amazing way of introducing Deadpool into the MCU. So much fun from that opening scene to the very end, Deadpool & Wolverine is fantastic and an absolutely treat for all Marvel fans.
