Interestingly enough, Eric ended up being my favorite part of what is otherwise a serviceable retelling of an old but beautiful story. There’s a lot to love, and yet there’s also a lot to be desired, as is typically the case with live action Disney outings. Nevertheless, it is one of the better ones, and succeeds by developing Eric into a charming main character.
Shoutout to Sebastian as well - while the performances were mixed across the board, Sebastian and Eric really gave it their all, as well as Vanessa.
