The Dark Knight is by far one of the most remarkable experiences in the superhero movies. Of course, we can not talk about this masterpiece without at least mentioning the eternal Heath Ledger. His outstanding portrayal of the Joker — may I say, the most unforgettable villain in film history — is undoubtedly the best to this date. The monologues, the acting and the cinematography are many of the resources that makes this movie memorable and quotable. Thank you, Christopher…

The Notebook 2004
I am not doing well after this movie. I will never recover from the scene where she looks to the landscape and says she never saw anything more beautiful than that. He agrees, but they were talking about very different things, because she had always been his view. Time slipping through one’s fingers is a thought that never fails to mess with my feelings. As an addendum, I would also threaten to kill myself if it meant 2004 Rachel McAdams…

Saving Private Ryan 1998
Dare I say that this is one of the best World War II movie ever made. Was it worth it saving Private Ryan? Absolutely not. But everything was impeccable: acting, film direction, cast, scenario and everything in between those lines.
“I JUST KNOW THAT EVERY MAN I KILL, THE FARTHER AWAY FROM HOME I FEEL.”
“These two men died in Normandy. This one at Omaha Beach.”
“Sean Ryan.”
“This man at Utah.”
“Peter Ryan.”
“This man was killed last week… -

Django Unchained 2012
If Quentin Tarantino and Christoph Waltz made more movies together, I'd be happy for life. I'm not one to repeat myself, yet once again, this masterpiece is another one of Tarantino's usual recipe: violence and caustic humour. Also, the D is silent, motherfucker.
“THE WAY THE SLAVE TRADE DEALS IN HUMAN LIVES FOR CASH, A BOUNTY HUNTER DEALS IN CORPSES.”
“You remember me? I like the way you die, boy.”“His son’s with him.”
“Well, good. He’ll have a loved… -
Pulp Fiction 1994
This movie became my comfort one, specially for something that seldom happens with my cinematic experiences: it makes me laugh. Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega are icons and nobody can tell me otherwise. Such a great rewatch.
“THAT’S WHEN YOU KNOW YOU’VE FOUND SOMEBODY REALLY SPECIAL. WHEN YOU CAN JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR A MINUTE AND COMFORTABLY SHARE SILENCE.”
“Describe what Marsellus Wallace looks like!”
“What? I-”
“Say ‘what’ again! Say ‘what’ again! I dare you! I double-dare… -
Babylon 2022
I’m sorry to start off like this, but what the fuck have I just witnessed? I am in utter shock. Babylon describes with precision the distinct points of view of people who worked with cinema back then, or, even better, worked with the ‘talking picture’. The subtle line that divides the passion for acting and the despise for pretending. It is so beautiful how they emphasize how eternal the actors are. They will be forever in the history of something…

Rio, 100 Degrees F. 1955

Inglourious Basterds 2009
Yet again, another masterpiece by Quentin Tarantino. I am obsessed with how Tarantino manages to make a violent movies with just the right amount of comic events. The plot centers around the premiere of a propaganda film, and the distinct angels of the same story, of all the characters that are shown, is simply impeccable. Also, there couldn’t be a better cast. All five stars undoubtedly deserved.

Taxi Driver 1976
I got the message of the movie and what it represents, but, overall, I thought it would be better. I personally didn’t feel much until it got near to the end. Two hours of movie to get a maximum of ten minutes of emotion is not a five stars. Once again, it is a great movie. The cinematography, lightening and the action is absolutely peak, I was in love the entire time with those attributes, it’s just the story itself,…

Blade Runner 2049 2017
Great movie to instigate questioning about life, memories and what is enough to be a human. I know it is probably just a few frames, but a detail that, for me, captured the feeling this movie brings, is when K — Ryan Gosling — looks down at his hands when he is having a moment of realization or even derealization. The doubt of what one is and what one thought could be.
“MERE DATA MAKES A MAN. A AND C…

Pulp Fiction 1994
Masterpiece. To begin with, Pulp Fiction has three different stories, that come to be one. Perfect balance between caustic humour and violence — both of my taste —, but the underlying meaning is just as great. Pulp Fiction is, all in all, about path and redemption. It is about choices and the results of our actions. Besides, I live for dialogues, and this film had a bunch of ‘em.
“NOW, I’D LIKE THAT. BUT THAT SHIT AIN’T THE TRUTH. THE…
