Jesse’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film would be the perfect company piece to John Carpenter’s Someone’s Watching Me.
Watcher is a tight suspense thriller that builds slow to a nerve racking climax. Maika Monroe is terrific as Julia, an American women who moves to Bucharest with her husband, who slowly suspects that someone may be watching too closely. Burn Gorman, who has been good in so many films, gets his time to shine as The Watcher and brings the creep factor up to an 11.
As the film progresses it’s interesting to see who is “watching” more, the predator or the prey. Voyeuristic in its intention, I only wish the film played out a little less predictable at the end but it still made for a great 90 minute watch.
