Lindsey Krahn’s review published on Letterboxd:
A decent watch to put on as just pure entertainment.
However, the hype around it didn't live up to being a Road House 're-make'.
I'm a fan of the original, and a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal, so I had high hopes for this movie. A little disappointed that it wasn't as good as I wanted or hoped it would be.
Some decent action scenes and some laughs throughout.
The end fight sequence was pretty epic. I gave my rating an extra half star because of that fight.
However, you never fully buy into the plot, and never get attached to either the bar or any of the characters.
And Connor McGregor?! *shake my head* I thought his character was completely unnecessary and pointless. It felt like the only reason he was there was for the end fight sequence. His character was corny, cartoon-like and stupid, and honestly his acting matched that. He was painful to watch and listen to.
