After Yang 2021
a deeply moving, subtle portrait of grief and family. the memory sequences were particularly touching, short shots of all the beauty and love in the world that yang wanted to capture and contextualize. the dialogue was sparse but heartbreaking, especially in the scenes where jake and kyra watched yang's memories and their emotions and recollections of those conversations were superimposed on his. i really love kogonada's tender, understated style of filmmaking.
