THE VILLAGE seems to be a movie that a lot of people really didn’t like when it first came out. When I first watched it, I liked it. Now many years later, I decided it was time for a revisit. And now I actually think this is brilliant. I understand how the abrupt twist would irk a lot of people, but as it moves on, the reasoning behind the twist is slowly revealed and in some ways, is its own horror story. And that’s where the genius of it all lies. Call me crazy if you’d like, but I’m going to continue on enjoying this movie (maybe even more) every time I watch it.
