tragic and well written characters. this film tells you that it's not tough to make a film about social complexities without demonising an entire community. RIP Engels and Simon, you two would have loved this film.

What i like the most was it's well-placed humor, often the humor doesn't have to intelligent, it has to be FUNNY! and here it is funny. Gets a little too preachy in parts, but can be ignored. Could have avoided casting a sanghi as a cop. Also paints cops in way-too good light which isn't the case at all. overall, reminded me of my own journey against odds so okay hehe

subtlety of love stories in suburban parts while also transcending eras!!! it's as if all love stories are painted like this only, the rosy part of it surpasses all barriers while "bombay" (reality) part often brings us back to our finite realities. Such a beautiful film with beautiful soundtrack, Thank you for making me discover Lorna!!!

After watching this film, I was most impressed by its construction. Each character has been used in such a way that they seem to be narrating different timelines of Chamkila's life. Alongside, I kept wondering how Chamkila and Manto would interact if they met each other. It's quite an imaginative concept with different timelines, but in the world of imagination, everything is possible, right? In a very small section, casteism in Punjab was also depicted, which reflects Chamkila's lifelong service…
