I wasn't a huge fan the first time I saw Tropic Thunder as a young man. I was hoping that as an adult it would make sense, because I see a lot of people talking about how this is one of the funnier movies in recent times. I can say that it makes sense now, but I still didn't find it all that funny. Most of the time the humor is a bit too crass or a bit too gross. Jack Black especially. His character is the worst thing in the film. It's much worse than RDJ's blackface. I got the joke they were going for with the blackface, by the way, I just didn't really care for it. There were a few funny moments. Two moments in particular made me laugh out loud, but I don't think the second time was even supposed to be a joke. Most of the time, though, I was just bored. At least this movie has a strong ending.

Sad that I didn't enjoy this movie, but that's just how it goes sometimes.
