  Watched the restored director’s cut at Sundance.

  A revolting movie. But that’s the point, I suppose! I can’t say I enjoyed this, though it wasn’t a waste of time either. I can vaguely recognise the message Araki’s trying to impart, but the story is too meandering, too absurd, punctured with abandoned plot points and a shocking, abhorrent, violent ending. I can very easily see how this movie may have a cult following! Things I did like: the cinematography. The numerous references to other films, namely Bande à part and Last Tango in Paris. The homoerotic subtext is also noteworthy🤔

  Clambake 1967

  This film was giving Disney Channel Original Movie - fun and peppy, yet insipid, forgettable. The premise is also exceedingly simple, interspersed with catchy songs and montages of bikini-clad women dancing. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it! And, of course, I would be remiss not to mention how Elvis' charisma shines through the screen, which is really the only reason to watch this film.

  This is NOT a joke rating. A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song was a genuinely compelling and beautifully shot film. When blonde harry styles walked out I was in tears. The Bollywood dance off? Powerful. Pretty little liar crowd surfing? Incomparable. The Suite Life on Deck, Big Lebowski, and Cyrano De Bergerac references? Go👏off👏 10/10 will watch again
