Jeremiah Battle’s review published on Letterboxd:
My favorite aspect of watching The Usual Suspects was watching the way it was edited.
A film like this has life long after you finish watching it, The Usual Suspects plays with non linear storytelling, perspective, and character conventions to mislead its audience.
The way a film like Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon disrupts the subjectivity of truth, can be found within the narrative structure of The Usual Suspects. While I think Rashomon is the superior film, I have to give credit to the wit and ambition of The Usual Suspects
I didn’t love this movie but I enjoyed watching it. Great performances all around, fun movie, glad I finally watched it.
