Jeremiah Battle’s review published on Letterboxd:
The concept of vengeance is scary, because those who have been consumed by it will stop at nothing until their desire is met.
The Northman explores this with its main character Amleth, who sets out to avenge the murder of his father. I thought it was chilling to see how someone will stop at nothing, avoiding even a prosperous and happy future, in order to get revenge on what eats away at their heart.
The standout of this film to me was the cinematography and production design. It made the world of the film so much more immersive and lived in.
