Jeremiah Battle’s review published on Letterboxd:
Our lives are all we have. Quite Literally.
Life like everything has its peaks & valleys, but It’s A Wonderful Life showcases that even your worst of days are still days that you got to live. That in itself is a blessing that many of us take for granted.
I could relate to this movie now more than ever, sometimes you feel as if life is passing you by. You feel like things aren’t going your way. You wish that your life was better. This film beautifully displays that the lives we have are special. It displays that no matter the circumstances we should take pride in the good things in our lives because otherwise they’ll be forgotten about and washed away as we sit and rot in hope for a better life that we may never see.
Comparison is the thief of joy and our little lives are probably more beautiful than we give them credit for. It’s A Wonderful Life is a metamorphosis of this philosophy.
This film is a masterpiece. Every time I watch it, I’m amazed at the film’s incredible approach to story, attention to detail, emotional poignancy, and powerful themes.
James Stewart has this undeniable screen presence. His ability to captivate audiences with pure facial expressions is something only a few can facilitate. The way he delivers dialogue and commands the screen is what makes him one of the best to ever do it!
This film makes me want to appreciate all of the small things in life. It makes me appreciate everyone in my life more. This film makes me want to live.
