This is a verrrry cheesy musical and sometimes Jamie can be little two dimensional(and that haircut ewwww) but obviously for personal reasons, as a queer 18 year old who thought she was gonna be a drag queen when they were younger but had no resources or idea how to pursue such a dream, this ATEEEEE!
I’ve been looking for a film that looks at drag and cross dressing for college and high schoolers and is fun and have actual conversations about it and doesn’t make drag out to be just all fun
If I’m being really critical I think some of the musical numbers are little to out there, like the black and white sequence was little much(tho the songs are phenomenal!)
I also wish there was more drag in this to be honest like I don’t think it was fully integrated in the best way. Like I wish we could have seen Jamie do more drag shows, experiment with looks and dresses, learn how to lip sync and all that, but that’s a nitpick. This was awesome nonetheless
