73/100 - This movie has a lot going for it and is certainly a level above the normal slop released in the early parts of the year, but I can't help but wish it had a bit more bite. 'Companion' feels a bit genre-less in spots, and not exactly in a good way. The lack of a real identity is what gets in the way of a great premise, which at least delivers on some twists & turns.

49/100 - Uh, what? I cannot believe the guy who directed 'Braveheart', 'The Passion of the Christ', 'Apocalypto', and 'Hacksaw Ridge' (22 combined Oscars nominations) also made this movie. Surely this is some sort of prank. It's not very good but borders on being silly enough to be somewhat fun. The Mark Wahlberg of it all doesn't really work for me, and all I can think about is his bald head, which shockingly didn't have a backstory.

54/100 - Intriguing enough of a (true) story to draw you in, but it never quite hits the highs of the teacher-student movies it is very trying to be like. Also, this doesn’t impact my rating, but I thought this was a horror movie. Not sure my “don’t watch trailers” experiment is all that good.

35/100 - Imagine telling your late-90's & early-00's self that there'd be a Will Ferrell x Reese Witherspoon romcom one day and it would suck a fair amount of ass. This was just so painfully unfunny in spots, and cringeworthy far too often. Jimmy Tatro accounted for roughly 95% of all funny moments in this movie.

95/100 - THIS is why you go to the movies. If it was appropriate to clap in 'Nosferatu', I might've done so around 50 times. Few directors, if anything, have "the sauce" quite like Robert Eggers. He takes a legacy story and drenches it in what has become his own recognizable jaw-dropping style. Every shot in this movie could be printed out and hung inside of a museum. Everything from the atmosphere down to the writing is creepy, eerie, fucked…
