"Looks like there's a storm comin'."

The Gift was directed by Sam Raimi and I thought it had a pretty interesting storyline. The cast is the films greatest strength though, Cate Blanchett is one of my favorites and she's really good in the lead role here. The supporting cast is pretty good too though, with standout performances from Giovanni Ribisi, Hilary Swank, J.K. Simmons, and Greg Kinnear. The biggest surprise was Keanu Reeves though. I'd heard people say this was his best performance, but I didn't know what kind of character he played. He impressed me here, in a role I wouldn't have thought he could pull off. The film itself was quite good for most of it, but I felt the finale was the weak link. Not that it was bad, just not as good as what came before, which brought it down a bit.
