“See how they love you”
Close cousin relationship representation warms my heart. This was absolutely everything I wanted to see out of a movie like this. Equal parts hilarious, touching and thorny. Really gets to the heart of who these people are. By the ending feeling like I’ve lived my entire life with these people with as much of an understanding as one can have of another person. But again what really hit for me in this was the depiction of this cousin relationship. As somebody whose best friend was and probably still is my cousin who is a month and a half older than me, this hit. It perfectly captures that wierd feeling of both uniformity and difference between you two. Sharing so much of your life together but there’s still something different about you and the way you were brought up. Having that familial connection and similarities that bring you together but that difference causing for major clashing. A difference that will never go away, but you can maybe learn to live with it a little. Even if you’ll never fully understand it. Was really floored and moved by this. Even personal connection aside this really was just a fantastic examination of a relationship and how we should try and navigate through our lives while looking at it through a broader context.
