TIFF 2024 #20: Special Presentations (Canadian Premiere)
Andrea Arnold aiming for magical realism in the most unexpected manner, but still moving nonetheless. Still, I must admit that while that I do find myself struggling to connect with most of Andrea Arnold's work - which I think is more on me than it is on her skill as a filmmaker. Nonetheless, there's something about how she depicts girlhood that I greatly respect, and Bird of course is no exception.
Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski stand out.
