  Visually awesome, but the humor just didn't hit for me. As unique as this looks on the surface, it feels a bit bland and lifeless underneath and the writing and comedy never really live up to the cool aesthetic. That said, there are times when they come close and the practical effects are lovely, and at barely 80 minutes the movie doesn't overstay it's welcome, so it's not like it's wholly without merit.

  I'm a bit conflicted. I wanted to like this more than I did, but I do feel like it's worth seeing if only for the special effects!

  I'm snowed in and my food choices are a bit limited. If you're wondering why I'm telling you that, it's because I wound up frying up some hotdogs less than a day after I saw this wonderfully weird movie and all I could do the entire time was think about the fucking hotdog hands and try not to giggle. 👋 Truly the wurst of all this movie's universes.

  This was SO GOOD! Maybe the best example I've seen of a movie that passes the two hour mark without feeling like it drags for even a second?

  Hooptober 5 #8: Jennifer's Body (2009)

  Today I finally marked Jennifer's Body off my bucket list.

  If anyone needs me, I'll be working on a time machine so I can go tell 2009 me to stop being a hater and watch this movie immediately because it's kind of, like, completely awesome?

  It's funny, it's clever, it's endlessly entertaining, and there are even a handful of genuinely creepy parts! Sure it's basically just Ginger Snaps for the other end of the '00s, but who cares? It rocks.

  Imagine a movie with four of him...
