Anora 2024
Went in blind not knowing what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The first half buys your investment into the characters whilst dangling the a looming threat you can’t help but anticipate. Until the threat eventually arrives and the “scary mob boss” stereotype you’re expecting is cleverly subverted with the comedic dynamic of the family’s associates. The comedy is perfectly coupled with a helpless Ani desperatly clinging to save her fantasy of marrying into obscene wealth. The final scene where Ani fails to bury how betrayed and broken she feels encapsulates how far she had fallen into the depths of her own fallacy.
Dope film

The Kitchen 2023
Biased since I’m in it, so I’ll leave 4 stars to seem like I’m not overdoing it 😭
I do have my nit picks, as every creative has of work they have been apart of but ultimately I think I’m too close to the film to see it objectively at the moment. Will have to come back in a year or so. But initial feelings: I love it. This is Daniel Kaluuya’s 10 year old child and I’m happy to be served the story as STAPLES to bring it to fruition.
They can’t stop we.

Challengers 2024
Josh O’Connor’s cheeky smirk is responsible for a star by itself, super charismatic performance. Zendaya killed it too
