An Arthurian acid-trip detailing the ambiguity of what it means to be a hero; The Green Knight is a gorgeously obscure tale. Relying heavily on atmosphere over pacing, the film presents a unique take on a classic story. I always find myself intrigued by Barry Keoghan’s bizarre presence. Best film I’ve seen in 2021 so far.

Pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a January action movie—a lifeless, unnecessary sequel that drags for nearly an hour before anything resembling excitement kicks in. Heist movie with zero juice. Severe drop in adrenaline from the first film. A few cool shots here and there that ultimately don’t amount to anything memorable. Even the product placement is baffling—lingering on a bottle of Cîroc like Diddy didn’t just have the most insane year ever. I’ve already forgotten the plot, yet somehow, they still had the nerve to set this up for another sequel.
