Desert Hearts

Desert Hearts

Painted onto the rural American landscape is a criminally underrated romance film that contains one of the most intimate displays of love put to screen. Desert Hearts not only constructs this beautiful perspective on a lesbian relationship, but it also simultaneously combats the prejudice that goes alongside it (at the time/place). Leading performances can’t be faulted, both convey their roles extremely well. What did surprise me was the cinematography; some of the scenic shots were nothing short of spectacular.
