One or two quite decent practical effects near the end mark everything left that's traceable back to George A. Romero. Anything else is nothing further than your usual generic zombie flick with abysmal CGI. While Diary of the Dead has already been bad enough, that movie at least tried to inject a new spin into the subgenre by turning it into a found footage property. This one ultimately proves that even some of the most revolutionary filmmakers should abandon their respective franchises before they'll inevitably decline in quality.*
