Stella Dallas 1937
Now I’m missing my mom!
This one seemed to move very quickly through space and time but not in a way where I felt left behind- more like I got to bear witness to multiple phases of a relationship’s life! (Almost like going through photos grouped by “year” and flying through time only seeing the most important or colorful moments).
I also hadn’t seen Barbara Stanwyck in anything besides Double Indemnity, and though her cunning fades (which makes sense for the difference between her two characters), she still has edge. Maybe it’s her killer bone structure? She’s beautiful. I should watch more.

The most likable protagonist I have ever encountered… and I was truly caught off guard by the ending(?)
Last year I saw The Iron Claw at the very beginning of January and it was still one of the best films I saw all year. The Brutalist continues this tradition of setting the bar high for everything else I see in the year to come!
Also my first time at the Park Theatre and everyone in the full house was so excited to be there!! What a lovely first experience

BUT Not normally a huge physical comedy person but I’d watch Chris roll around in his velvet blazers ALL DAMN DAY. His extremely specific vernacular is incredibly quoteable..,.,,and yet his delivery of the lines is the only truly acceptable version.
