Chris Kirby’s review published on Letterboxd:
Had a lot of fun with this one. This is kind of a horror film but really not. It’s this crazy dark comedy that has murder and horror-adjacent stuff happen. I didn’t think it was quite the biting satire it wanted to be but it hits a lot of satirical points that are exceptionally valid and quite funny. Everyone in this is perfect. Not a single performance falls short. Even all the nobody cast members do their piece even if it’s minimal. This is the Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor Joy show and they kill it. Nicolas Hoult also continues to prove to be an asset in any film he’s cast in (cannot wait for Renfield, OMG did y’all see that trailer?!!!) and his take on the modern hipster foodie is pretty pitch perfect.
I love the way the film unfolds and I just love every piece of this. It’s funny, it’s shocking, it’s smart, it’s simple at its heart, and the cast again, just perfect. I didn’t quite hit the perfect chord in my soul though but I have no notes.
