Chris Kirby’s review published on Letterboxd:
Apparently never been available in its full length version before. Just as a 27 minute edited down thing. Blessed be to AGFA for doing the good work for the worst films.
This 1963 Florida lensed regional quickie is a delightfully fun mix of sexploitation cash grab and Hershel Gordon Lewis’ splatter flicks (amazing that this came out the same year as Blood Feast. Those Floridians work fast).
There’s exactly one gore scene and it’s so insane. Made HGL proud, I know it. Weirder still is that this single sequence is played in full TWICE!
There’s also an insane original song played over the six island women dancing about. It’s not quite the pure Go Go dancing spectacle of, say, Orgy of the Dead but it’s in the same spirit. Everything else is pretty plodding and unenthusiastic but enjoyable enough to where I’m not gonna complain about its 62 minute runtime.
Actually one of the better examples of its type that I’ve seen and a great way to kick off Blood-A-Rama Triple Frightmare II.
