ginsprich’s review published on Letterboxd:
It was during the opening scenes that I paused the movie to text my friend about Rachel Sennott. He told me I was “late,” and of course I’m also late to watching this film. It would have been such a good theater experience but as it stands it’s the best comedy of 2023.
Rachel Sennott is hot, which includes but is not limited to her physical form. Mostly, though, it’s because she’s a riot and I laughed so hard throughout this. And it takes a smart person to write something so ridiculous and Sennott co-wrote this with Emma Seligman. Y’all know this already. I need to give Shiva Baby another shot.
This might have been one of two movies this year that lived up to its trailer. (Past Lives being the other one, though it gave too much away.)
Lastly: That. Kiss.
Heart-pounding stuff, people.
