  Paramount and Nickelodeon just won’t let Stephen Hillenburg rest peacefully by releasing another cash-grab SpongeBob film. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is an animated adventure film telling the story of SpongeBob who, along with Patrick, embarked on an adventure to the Lost City of Atlantic City, after finding out that his pet snail and best friend Gary went missing. It combined The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie and SpongeBob Squarepants’ S04E03 Have You Seen this Snail? and transformed it into the most lackluster, repetitive, and ineffective hour and a half long movie. Nickelodeon keeps on disrespecting the wishes of Hillenburg, first by announcing a SpongeBob prequel/spinoff Kamp Koral a year ago and now with this money-grabbing flick. The film desperately grabs…

  The animation in this is absolutely fucking incredible and that is the only reason it gets higher than 1 star

  Idk what crack these writers were on but it’s so depressing to see such a disconnect between the animation team and the writing team

  The first spongebob movie should’ve been the end, the second was 100% references so I had nostalgic bias and this holy shit

  It’s just so sad to see this type of incredible fucking animation go to such waste
